Canada - our advices for your cruise
A gigantic country covered with forests and flag easily identifiable: That’s more or less what evokes Canada to most people. The attraction exerted by natural landscapes on the traveller is undeniable, but Canada has much more to offer than its wide open spaces, its forests of maple or Niagara Falls.
From land to sea, from big cities to the mountains, you’ll be seduced by the vastness of its landscapes as the host of its local population.
Our rental sailboats bases are on the west coast of Canada in the state of British Columbia, one in the city of Vancouver and the other two in the vicinity of Vancouver Island.
The currency is Canadian dollar. It’s divided into 100 cents.
Canadian dollar is different from American dollar.
If you have planned to buy travelers checks, it is preferable to catch them in Canadian dollars (accepted by most traders).
Very often, for changing traveler's checks, is required to pay a commission (2.50$Ca, i.e. 1.6 €).
It's very convenient to draw money in the ATM cash dispensers, but be aware that a commission is applied on each withdrawal; it is worth withdrawing large sums.
Most credit cards are accepted.
The exchange rate is relatively favorable (1 $ Ca = 0.70 €), and prices are generally accessible. However provide an estimate higher than for a trip to Quebec.
Schedules banks: Most are open Monday through Wednesday from 10 am to 15 and Thursday and Friday from 10h to 18h-20 h. Virtually all have at least an automatic accessible 24 hours.
Valid passport. It doesn’t require visas for citizens of the EU and Western Europe, if tourists stay less than six months.

No vaccine mandatory. To pass to the United States from Canada, you don’t need a visa if you stay less than 3 months. But it's better yet to ask the American embassy before leaving ...
